In art classes at University of Delaware, my favorite professor was contemporary painter Peter Williams. In critique, when he weighed the concepts and ideas motivating our paintings, I hung on his every word; eager for guidance on how to translate the expansive poignance of a concept into a successful work of art. This is still a captivating mystery to me.
Anyway, Peter is from the midwest, and so he pronounced 'ideas' as 'idears.'
This was ever so pleasing to me because I am passionate about ideas- learning about new ideas and old ideas, coming up with my own and critiquing others'... I hold them dear, so calling them idears expressed my affection perfectly.
